You have to be absolutely sure you want level 3 order / attack magic before you go into it, otherwise you're just wasting precious runes. Lots of people will still tell you to hybrid to get useful skill upgrades but it's pretty stupid to try that. So, really, Warrior is about maxing your attack/defense, depending on how you want to play. Crossworlds/Armoured Princess makes this easier since they removed, for example, the skill that lets you upgrade acolytes into inquisitors and the skill that lets you have demons/undead in your army without morale loss. If you play Warrior, you generally just brute-force everything and use scrolls UNLESS you want to try and balance your skills between might mind and magic, which is pretty damn hard when you realise that the magic tree if something you have dedicate to or know exactly what skills you want to buy. Resurrection, heal(sort of) and disabling/enabling spells(Slow, Haste, perhaps fear if you use it right). In terms of having the edge over combat in the "You NEED this" sense e.g. Warrior is still considered to be the best hero of the 3, paladin is considered to be the worst.Mage is optimal? I mean, if you know how to do it right, sure. So kiting cheese bypasses this and makes it much easier. Mage is considered to be very hard in the early game, because it needs a lot of levels before it becomes powerful. I am trying to have a relatively cheese free, normal playthrough which normal people can learn from and replicate, with plenty of fights to keep each video entertaining and the game entertaining for me. Usually with a big stack of some uber tough unit and constant use of Magic Shield and Stone Skin to avoid taking any damage. With such a huge pre-fight advantage, they can then do 80-90% of the game, challenge free. Most people achieve no casualities with infinite gold cheeses, kiting units and unlocking all the islands before fighting any fights and getting to level 20+ before fighting even a single battle, when I watch them do this kind of thing on youtube. I didn't even knew there is an exploit about losing that gives gold. I've mostly been just reloading when I couldn't win to repeat the fights. Btw I have lots of other screenshots from the game itself too. I did Warriors of the North with Mage in the same way. Not losing battles is way too easy of a challenge.
